Join us to celebrate RESIST’s 40th Anniversary on Saturday, October 13, 2007
at the Arlington Town Hall in Arlington, Massachusetts. Festivities include:
A dynamic panel of activists and visionaries: 5:30-7:30 p.m. "How do we
resist war, globalization and pessimism in today’s political climate?"
featuring:
Noam Chomsky: RESIST founding member, prolific writer, power critic of US
imperialism and a prominent international speaker.
Mandy Carter: Long-time activist and advocate on behalf of peace, women’s
and queer rights, and economic justice. Currently Mandy is the director of
Southerners on New Ground.
Bill Fletcher, Jr.: Labor and international activist, co-chair of United for
Peace and Justice and a founder of the Black Radical Congress.
Camilo Mejia: The first U.S. soldier who served in Iraq and went public with
his refusal to re-deploy in 2004, Chair of Iraq Veterans Against War.
Jane Sung E Bai (Moderator): Founder and Executive Director of CAAAV
Organizing for Asian Communities
A brief program to follow, with Masters of Ceremony Nikhil Aziz and Pam
Chamberlain, and entertainment by The Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure
Society Brass Band.
Dancing to resistance music through the decades!
Silent auction featuring great vacations, political art and more!
Hot hors d’oeuvres and light fare provided; cash bar.
Tickets are $75 per person; $30 for grantees, students and low-income. Space
is limited so order now!

get fabulous vacations, artwork and services.
