Islam Op-Ed: American Muslims Boost Political Activism

Those seeking the White House in 2008 may want to take note of an
increasingly active and growing group of voters – American Muslims.

Muslims are now viewed as potential swing-voters in key battleground
states such as Florida, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and
Wisconsin.

CAIR-CA: Free Speech vs. Hate Speech

Of course, most elementary school students will tell you that hate
speech is not to be confused with free speech.

CAIR, the California Council of Churches, Rabbi Haim Dov Beilak and
other Hate Hurts America Coalition coalition members cherish
America’s tradition of freedom of speech. HHA is practicing its own
freedom of speech when it calls people of conscience to stand up
against Michael Savage’s hate-filled anti-minority tirades.

Stillwell’s wrath against CAIR and other HHA members as a mere
consequence of their advocacy against hate speech puts in question
her credibility as a columnist.

AZ: A Handbook for Muslim Teens

Growing up in today’s culture can be exciting, confusing, and chock-
full of challenges.

For young American Muslims, navigating adolescence has proven
especially daunting since the events of Sept. 11, 2001. They must
sort out not only who they are individually but also how they fit
into a society that knows little about them but holds a host of
impressions. . .

Since then, Imran, his older sister Yasmine, and their mother,
Dilara, have been hard at work on a dual project: to write a book
that could dispel that ignorance and at the same time help Muslim
youths deal with the many issues that confront them. The family
discussed their five-year project in a recent phone interview from
their home in Paradise Valley.

HADITH OF THE DAY
You Have Guided Me on the Right Path

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) woke up, he would
say: "O God, I seek Your forgiveness of my sins, and ask for Your
mercy. O God, increase me in knowledge, and let not my heart deviate
after You have guided me on the right path."
