Dear Friend,

You have called, emailed, faxed, marched, organized office visits,
teach-ins, sit-ins and die-ins, and been arrested.

Thanks to all of your efforts, Congress has defeated a bill to fund
the war in Iraq for the first time in 5 years. The Republicans and
cautious Democrats in Congress have been caught by surprise; they
underestimated our influence on Congress to end the War in Iraq while
supporting the Troops. Now the Senate will take up the funding bill.

Heads in Washington, D.C. must be spinning; don’t let them catch
their breath! Call both your Senators now–202-224-3121-and tell them
to vote NO on the supplemental war funding bill.

Once the Senate votes, the bill will return to the House and we will
need your efforts there again. We have burst the war funding balloon-
now we have to keep the pressure on! Don’t let up; make your calls
today! 202-224-3121

You’ve seen how powerful teamwork can be-now you can experience it
firsthand at the Pink House in DC this summer! Throughout June and
July, we’ll be holding weeklong action camps that will teach you how
to talk to your congressperson, how to reach (and be) the media,
along with other fun and mighty activism skills. You will leave this
wonderful Pink House empowered and inspired to organize and mobilize
at home. Check out complete details about the DC summer schedule,

Thanks for all your hard work,
Alicia, Dana, Desiree, Farida, Gael, Gayle, Jodie, Liz, Medea,
Nancy, Rae, Sarah and Tighe

P.S. While Congress voted on Thursday, members of Iraq Veterans
Against the War testified about the shattering realities of war
during a hearing convened by the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
You can listen to their moving testimonies here

P.P.S. Thanks to your beautiful generosity this Mothers Day, we were
able to send over $25,000 to help Iraqi refugees. Your donations are
making a profound difference in the lives of displaced Iraqi women
and children. Click here to read their and your letters.
