Subject: Community Choice Act – click and send Action Alert
Since ADAPT’s actions two weeks ago, we’ve added 15 House cosponsors and
Senate cosponsor to the Community Choice Act
I’m in DC this week, and as I do all these legislative visits, many
comment about wanting to hear from people in their states.  While I’m sure
many of our advocates have talked with their Reps, a large wave of faxes
emails could probably get us a few more cosponsors in the very near
Would it be possible for you all to send out an alert to your networks
these links so people can send a pre-drafted letter to their Congressional
Representative and Senators?

The Roads to Community Living project is officially serving individuals
wanting to move from institutional to community settings!
As of today, there are 8 participants enrolled in the RCL project moving
from RHCs to a community setting.  4 have already moved; 2 from
Fircrest; 1 from Rainier School; and 1 from Frances Haddon Morgan
Center.  4 are scheduled to move within the next few months — 3 from
Fircrest and 1 from Yakima Valley.
Liz and Karen are halfway through NF Relocation and RCL Training for the
HCS field so we are anticipating the first participant from a nursing
home to enroll any day.
Jerry Kessinger has been a tremendous RCL State Partner and champion of this project.
