Take Action – Congress to Vote This Week on Paycheck Fairness
Dear James m,
I’m thrilled to tell you that our battle for fair pay for women is gaining momentum.
Recently, women Congressional leaders stood at the U.S. Capitol to rally in support of pay equity. We’re grateful to all our supporters — those of you who were with us at the Capitol and those who are with us across the country — for everything you’ve done to help advance fair pay.
Now, we’re calling on you to help us keep this momentum going. Please e-mail your Representative today:
This week, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on the
Paycheck Fairness Act. This bill would update and strengthen the Equal
Pay Act of 1963, closing loopholes and improving the law’s effectiveness.
But getting to an actual vote on this important bill won’t be easy. Some Representatives might try to kill the bill by calling for a "motion to recommit," which would send the bill back to committee. Others may propose amendments that would weaken the core protections of the bill.
Please urge your Representative to support the Paycheck Fairness Act
without weakening amendments:
The Paycheck Fairness Act marks a critical step toward closing the wage gap between men and women. Our fact sheet has more information about the bill:
Thanks again for your support.

P.S. Please forward this e-mail to your friends, family, and
co-workers. Together, we can continue to raise our voices in support
of fair pay for women.
