109,000 undecided voters

109,000 undecided voters
Time is running out! This is our last big push before the election.
On the phones in Oregon…
Knocking on doors in Michigan…
Phonebanking from Planned Parenthood headquarters in New York City…
…Planned Parenthood Action Fund staff and volunteers get the word out to voters in battleground states.

Dear James,
This just in from Ohio:
"I reached a voter on the phone just as she was sitting down to fill out her absentee ballot. She really didn’t know who she was voting for! I told her about how John McCain had voted against women’s reproductive health 125 times, and the voter responded that with that new knowledge, there was no way she could support McCain."
And from Las Vegas, Nevada:
"It seems like everyone I talked to was undecided — and most had no idea about John McCain’s terrible record. I spoke with one woman on the phone before early voting started who, after I got through my spiel, said she was very pro-choice, but she also ‘knew how little the President can do anything — good or bad — about choice.’ So, I gently talked to her a bit about the importance of new nominees to the Supreme Court, Bush’s current veto threat to the simple fix for the affordable birth control crisis, and the amount he’s pushed in his budget for dangerous abstinence-only programs. She was very quiet — so quiet I thought she might have hung up — but then said, ‘Wow, I had no idea. There’s no way I can vote for John McCain now.’"
Imagine stories like these — times about 100,000 — and you’ve got an idea of what life for the Planned Parenthood Action Fund looks like for the next seven days. It’s our final push to reach every single person we can, and we need your help. Please, make your last contribution before the election right now. I can promise we’ll put it to good use.
If you’ve been wondering where all those "undecided voters" are, I can tell you. We’re finding them. Through the mail, on the phone, door-to-door, and with our commercials, we’re reaching hundreds of thousands of people with a message that makes sense because it comes from a trusted source: us, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.
But time is running out. We have just one week to make an impact on this election. The good news is that we can do a lot in a week. Just last weekend, Planned Parenthood Action Fund staff and volunteers contacted more than 109,000 targeted voters in battleground states like Virginia, Florida, and Ohio — and we’re not done yet. For the next seven days, we’re going to reach out to every voter we can to educate them about the dangerous policies of the McCain/Palin ticket and to make sure a pro-choice majority gets to the polls on election day. Your gift today will help us in our final push before the election.
Thank you once again for everything you do during this critical time. We’re close.
Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Action Fund
