Candidates for President, Senate, and Congress Answer Questions on Science
Candidates opinions on science issues vital to America’s future are available.
Kansas Citizens for Science (KCFS) is a not-for-profit educational organization that promotes a better understanding of what science is and does.  In this crucial election year, we believe that it is important that voters know where candidates stand on issues concerning science and our society.
To that end, KCFS supports a national effort to have all candidates for federal office complete a series of such questions.  This effort is led by the organizations Science Debate 2008 and Scientists & Engineers for America (SEA).  These two and nineteen other science organizations have come together to ask the 2008 candidates questions on science and technology policy. Together these organizations represent millions of scientists, engineers, and citizens around the country. The questions focus on the most pressing problems we face today-keeping America’s edge in innovation, climate change, science and technology education, energy, water, healthcare, and research.
To find the questions and candidate answers simply go to the website, http://sharp.sefora.org .  Along with candidate responses to these questions, SEA has posted other publically-available information about candidate actions and opinions with regard to these issues.
Kansas Citizens For Science (www.kcfs.org) encourages voters to consider candidates stands on these important issues to the future of our country before casting their vote.
KCFS is a not-for-profit educational organization that promotes a better understanding of what science is and does by:
•    Advocating for science education
•    Educating the public about the nature and value of science
•    Serving as an information resource
