LCV: FW: Gene, this is urgent

LCV: FW: Gene, this is urgent
Hi James M,
I just got an email this morning from Tony Massaro, our Political Director, and I had to pass it along. Tony has been in close contact with our team in Oregon that is working to elect Jeff Merkley to the U.S. Senate.
Jeff is running against Gordon Smith, who has a lifetime LCV score of only 37%. Jeff has the momentum on his side to defeat Smith and help bring us the 60-vote pro-environment majority we need in the Senate, but right now the race is neck and neck. It’s the same story in key Senate races all over the country—in places like Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Minnesota.
Tony says we need to raise an additional $50,000 to win in Oregon and in other races across the country. Donate today.
For just $66, you can put a canvasser in the field for one more day to reach 57 targeted households. James M, in a race this tight and with just one week to go, every door we knock on matters.
This is one of those elections they’ll be talking about for decades. This is one you’ll be telling your grandchildren about. And you’ll want to tell them you did everything possible to pass on to them a cleaner, safer planet. We won’t be able to elect pro-environment leaders like Jeff Merkley without your help.
Donate to LCV Action Fund today—help us win in Oregon and in other key races around the country.

Oregon’s still a dead heat. The momentum is swinging our way, but it’s by no means locked up.
Bottom line: we still need a last-minute infusion of resources. It will take another $50,000 to send Jeff to the Senate and win all of our targeted down-ballot races. The current budget just isn’t enough to reach our phone-banking goals, to complete our mail program, and to continue knocking on doors every single day. But if we hold back a single dime, we’ll risk losing this chance to get to 60 pro-environment votes in the Senate.
You need to send Jeff more reinforcements. I think it will make the difference between winning and losing.
